This weekend, Lord's Antiques and Salvage opens just down the road, less than a 5 minute walk. You may want to go in the car though, as you could be loaded up with lots of shopping. We've called down for a sneak preview and it really is a place to spend an hour or so undercover which we're pleased to have on our doorstep!

We hear a lot about waste, recycling, plastic and our impact on the environment, and rightly so. We try our best to minimise our impact by:

Providing 'pump dispenser' high quality toiletries (not individually packaged),

not using individually packaged jams and milk,

having re-usable breakfast order sheets (wipe-off),

having waterbutts to collect rainwater for our garden, where we grow our own herbs and fruit,

Re-cycling rubbish in the correct bins and home-composting,

Drying laundry outside when possible,

Having A+++ rated lightbulbs installed,

Using eco-products to clean and launder,

supporting guests who want to explore on foot or by bike, having our secure store.

For guests' comfort, we have thermostatic controls on radiators, have an Envirovent air circulation system installed upstairs and all double glazing is A rated for its heat-loss and noise reduction properties.

We buy locally made and produced where possible, to reduce 'food miles' and support local busineses. In our garden we encourage wildlife and birds - and we're sure they like it too.
